He Grew Up Watching His Mother Chase Dreams

“Yes, Ayaan stays in the office.”
And no, it hasn’t been easy.

As a young mother, I knew my child needed me.
As an experienced professional, I knew my career did too.

So I brought Ayaan to work – quite literally – because I refused to choose between the two.

People questioned me.

Some even blamed me for not giving him a ‘normal’ childhood.
No playdates, no parks
– just a childhood spent around workstations and project deadlines.

Did it shake my confidence? Absolutely.

Did I want to give up? Many times.

But did I give up? Never.

Luckily, I had a partner Adeesh who stood by me like a rock – so I could fly.

I won’t pretend I’ve found the perfect balance –

because balance is a myth.
There are days when my son needs me more and then there are days when work does.

But I show up – for both.

Because my child is watching.
He sees me fall.
And more importantly – he sees me rise.

He’s learning that discomfort is part of the journey.
That grit matters.
That dreams are worth chasing – even when it’s hard.

This mother is also that little girl who once dreamt big
– and I can’t disappoint her either.

I made a promise:
I will stand, no matter how many times I fall.

Just last night, I was attending a leadership training event. While I was learning… my child was silently watching.

And that is scary – because I just can’t falter.

He’s watching. He’s learning. He’s becoming.

And I hope every mother out there knows:
The world needs more moms to go after their dreams

– because our kids are watching.
